Showing at the Tumbleweed

George Traicheff Meadow lark painter

The artwork was completed in the ancient medium of egg tempera which is made from egg yolk and natural pigments. It is one of the most ecologically friendly paints in existence, thus keeping with the Meadowlark Nature Festival ideals of enjoying and preserving the wild lands and its inhabitants.. To ensure that the painting appealed to a variety of tastes, I completed the piece with a touch of realism & abstraction, colourful but subdued to bring that grasslands warm light to the forefront while the Western Meadowlark goes about foraging for the next meal. The frame is one of my handcrafted frames made from an old fence post recovered from Meadowlark territory.
