Marianne Meyer

Born and raised in Switzerland, Marianne Meyer has called British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley home since 2000. Her artistic journey began with realism, but she quickly sought greater freedom to express emotions and embrace bold, vibrant experimentation. This led her to develop a distinctive approach, creating dynamic abstract compositions that resonate with energy and spontaneity.

Textures and imagery emerge intuitively in Marianne’s work, guiding her creative process. She continuously explores and evolves as an artist, drawing inspiration from contemporary artists and incorporating a mix of mark-making, drawing, and layered paint. Working primarily with acrylics, charcoal, and art pencils, she builds rich, expressive surfaces that invite deeper engagement.

Her process is one of constant refinement—painting and reworking each piece until it achieves the perfect balance of layering, structure, and depth. The final color compositions encourage viewers to interpret and connect with the work in their own unique way. For Marianne, this dialogue between artist and audience is at the heart of what art should be.
